Message from the Board of Directors
The Portuguese Society of Microscopy (SPMicros), originally the Portuguese Society of Electronic Microscopy (SPME), was founded in 1966. It is a non-profit scientific society which currently comprises the Life Sciences and Materials Sciences communities within Portugal. The society aims to support the implementation and development of all types of microscopy and their scientific or technological applications. Given its multidisciplinarity, SPMicros encompasses a broad scientific community that uses microscopy to develop research in the fields of materials science, biology and biomedicine.
